HIA suspended it’s operation in Afghanistan
Regarding the safety issues in Afghanistan, Hungarian Interchurch Aid has suspended it’s operation in the country. The NGO has provided humanitarian aid and implemented development programmes through its local office since 2001 in the value of 5 billion HUF.
As uncertain safety situation followed the Taliban takeover, HIA in close cooperation with the Government of Hungary ensured the safety of its local colleagues and their families.
HIA has been following the situtation in Afghanistan and with its international partners has been examining the possibility of providing assistance in the region.
