Running together to raise attention to Transcarpathian people in need

Volunteers of HIA and Transcarpathian kids ran together – virtually but for real aims. The unique event was promoted with the leading of HIA’s Goodwill Ambassador, Kovács Kokó István and it took place on Margaret Island in Budapest. The Olympic champion boxer and the volunteers ran together virtually with school kids in Berehove who ran on the venue of the famous Bereg Charity Half Marathon which was cancelled this year.

The aim of the run was to raise attention to the importance of solidarity through borders and to be able to help more families, kids and elders in need who are in an even more difficult situation because of the pandemic. The well-known 1353 charity line number was visible on the runners’ shirt to encourage more people to donate by calling the number. More details about the fundraising campaign and about how anyone can help are available here.
