Response to COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine
Hungarian Interchurch Aid has been providing assistance in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic in Hungary and in other countries as well.
HIA has been supporting health-, and social care institutions, local residents in need, has delivered the COVID-19 protective device support of the Hungarian government and transported medical ventilators to 10 governorates of Ukraine. This time, with the support of ACT Alliance, HIA distributed food baskets and hygiene packages to the most vulnerable people: families who lost their income due to the pandemic and to elderly people who live alone. HIA directly reached 150 families: 100 in Zaporizhzhia, 50 in Kherson. This type of humanitarian help can be a lifesaver at the moment to people in need.
