Support for the resettlement and stay of Iraqi refugees (2018-2019 KKM375)
The goal of the programme implemented with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is to achieve development goals through concrete investments in Iraq with which the aid organization can support the resettlement, stay and livelihood of internally displaced persons and in which the living conditions and living environment of the participants in the project will improve.
The first step in this was the renovation of 5 school buildings and the provision of educational tools in the Nineveh and Duhok governorates. In the latter governorate, the aid organization renovated five water tanks and two water networks for the local population in 6 settlements. At the same time, the irrigation water canal in the Nahla Valley which had collapsed due to landslide was reconstructed.
The Aid Organization distributed tools required for informal settlement to 120 families in the Sharia refugee camp, and hygiene kits were provided to 2,374 families in the Khazer and Hassansham refugee camps located in the Erbil Governorate.
We prepared and started to hold life management and vocational trainings in the refugee camps, with which we endeavoured to help as many people as possible.
Furthermore, we started to set up a social centre where through various activities we support Qaraqush returnees in the Nineveh governorate.
As a result of the HUF 375 million support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Aid Organization helped 49,209 beneficiaries.
Project budget: HUF 375,000,000
